At By Julian we have nurtured a skilled network of architects, engineers, consultants and designers to transform ideas into realities. Together, we solve challenges through innovative design engineering.
Our consultancy was founded by Julian Carter – a consummate civil engineer – who is proud to put his name to every project. He is devoted to disaster prevention and his first paper, delivered at an International Engineering Conference in Kenya, was titled 'The Civil Engineer is the unheralded doctor of preventive medicine’. Prevention really is better than the cure.
Julian’s co-founder, Cathy, shares the same deeply held commitment to quality. Cathy provides a wholesome approach to IT Consultancy and Project Management services. Hence, By Julian is a testimony of pride and full responsibility.
Our dependable attitude was born from early work experiences in emergency and disaster engineering, working with NGOs on emergency infrastructure and security projects across Africa, South Africa, Asia and in Europe. Julian forensically assessed buildings and structures to identify issues then designed life-saving solutions.
By Julian was founded in 2008 (formerly known as E.A.T) and has supported a range of diverse and notable projects. From guiding individuals through domestic property ownership and purchase, to providing technical consultancy support to The Highways Agency, By Julian is ready to provide a pragmatic and wholesome approach to challenges. First and foremost – as a forensic engineer – Julian is trained to ‘let the evidence speak’ (“Res ipsa loquitur”).
